Finding a job, making friends, smiling and nodding politely when I didn’t understand an accent made me doubt the skills I had been proud of until then. I was afraid someone eventually would discover my CV, my experience, my perspective was nothing but a fraud.

I had a hard time deciding what my next post would be. I thought of many different topics and even started a couple of drafts.

I had this very elaborate plan of forcing the plots of the books I was reading into migration tropes and vice versa. I am reading A Man Called Ove. The book tells the heartwarming story of a Grinch-like elderly grumpy man and his dealings with modernity and grief. It didn't work. Or maybe I couldn’t make it work.
